SEPTEMBER 11, 2017

I remember vividly some years ago, a popular story in my country. After seven months of intense legal battle, fought with intrigue and high drama, a former Inspector General of the Nigerian police (Names withheld), who had been in the dock for criminal activities bordering on corrupt enrichment, was finally jailed for 6 months.

Our concern in today’s devotional is not on the fall of the man. After all, mere mortals fall. You and I have our own weaknesses! Our aim is not to condemn the man! After all, if God should mark iniquity, who will stand? (Ps 130:3).

Hear St Augustine again. “Never hate the man on account of his fault; nor love the fault because of the man, but hate the fault and love the man.” So, as a believer you must never judge others, but our concern today is on the powerful statement made by the man as he went to prison:
“I will serve the jail term. I will serve it. But all I know is that the permanent feature of life is that it is full of ups and downs. At a time, I was up the ladder, now it is the reverse. By the grace of God, I will bounce back”.

I feel like jumping from this writing table because the words “I was up the ladder... I will bounce back” are like fire in my bones. God wants you to know that you what you are by His grace. Many who were up there before are down today. Please use whatever position you have, to serve God and man because there is always a payday!

Can you imagine Saul boasting with the victory of Jonathan? See today’s Basic Scripture again! Saul was in obscurity when God raised him up. He was unknown when God granted him victory over the Amorites, but then he took trumpets and blew his own trumpet. No wonder he lost the throne! God wants you never to fight for any position because except the Lord lifts you, you will come down! Did Saul not come down? Hear John Buchan: “Without humility, there can be no humanity.” Don’t forget the Chinese Proverb: “He who is great, must make humility his base; he who is high must make lowliness his foundation.” Never forget that millions are in the cemetery who thought the world would stop without them. Be humble! You are dusty!

1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!
2.    Pray about your life and position in life. Surrender all to God. Ask for the grace to serve others.
3.    Pray any other prayer(s) as led.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2017

Yesterday the Lord used the story of John Foppe and other men/women who had reasons not to make it, but chose to confront their excuses and win. An interesting fact is that Mr. Foppe has been honoured in the USA as one of the 10 outstanding young Americans. Is that not wonderful, for a man without arms and with seven other birth “mistakes” or defects?

God wants you to see that problem/obstacle as a challenge to be conquered. An old man approached a young man at the post office and asked, “Would you please address this postcard for me? The young man gladly did so and then went on to write a short note for the old man. Before the young man left, he asked the old man: “Sir, is there still anything also I can do for you? The old man replied: “Yes, at the end, could you please add: “Please excuse the sloppy handwriting.” Can you beat that?

He saw the little, negative part of a wonderful service rendered and decided to focus on it and that’s how millions are! What is that negative thing in your life that you are seeing? There is hardly any great man/woman that did not experience a delay or setback! Just some few hours to his final breakthrough battle, even the Lord Jesus was nearly swallowed up by excuses (Matt 26:39). Don’t allow that excuse to hold you down!

Listen to A.W. Tozer: “A simple hearted man was asked how he managed to live such a state of tranquility even though he was surrounded by adverse circumstances. His reply was profound, yet simple: ‘I have learned to cooperate with the inevitable.” Make the most of what you have! Stop complaining about what is not yet in your hands! Listen also to the man born without arms (Mr. Foppe). “Our environment shapes what we are, but do not determine who we are.”

Use today’s devotional to declare war against any excuse in your life. Close with Rudyard Kipling: “We have forty million reasons for failure, but not a single excuse.” Arise, fight and win! By the grace of God, 2017 will go down in history as your special year in Jesus name.

1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!
2.    Pray about any excuse (barrier) in your life now
3.    Ask for the grace to rise and conquer it in Jesus name
4.    Oh you mountain of excuses, bow to me from this day in Jesus name. Determine a new attitude!
5.    Pray yesterday’s prayers! Pray generally as led.

Disability is not inability. The life of Mr. John Foppe, a 34-year-old man born without arms and with seven other birth “mistakes” or defects confirms this! To millions on earth today, that would have been a good reason for blaming God daily for their conditions and further still, others may probably develop self-pity, self-comparison/ self-blame! But for this 34-year-old American, he cooks, eats, drinks, drives and operates his computer all with his legs. A Master degree holder, Foppe is the author of an inspirational and personal growth book titled: “WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE? MAKING THE MOST OF WHAT YOU HAVE”.

God is sending me to let you know that no matter your setbacks, obstacles, handicaps or barriers, your life is a product beyond excuses! You will make it because obstacles are up-starters! Setbacks are stepping-stones! Though Moses was a stammerer, he shook his generation! Though David was the last born, yet he excelled.

Though Elijah had no money, the God of miracles met his needs via A RAVEN. Though he was inexperienced, uneducated and little, the God of promotion made him a power broker in his generation. What can’t God do? That is why I describe Him as the God that fetches water with a basket to disgrace the bucket. Why are you accepting that lie from the devil!

Don’t forget that Plato was a hunchback! M.K.O Abiola started from poverty level! Ross Perot, the American billionaire, started with just 2000 dollars! Thomas Edison was poor! Roosevelt was paralyzed from the waist!  Beethoven was deaf! Abraham Lincoln had serious setbacks! Martin Luther Jnr was back! What is that lie (excuse) Satan is showing you? Hear Alexander Pope: “An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie, for an excuse is a lie guarded.” Arise, declare war against excuses now!

Prayer points
1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led
2.    O Lord, whether Satan likes it or not, I will make it in life and ministry in Jesus name (Pray it seriously please).
3.    Pray about the following excuses (problems) and receive grace to win. Show today’s message to a disabled person and share it with a soul in your office/school/residence, etc.
4.    Do you know that your enemies don’t sleep because of you? Pray tonight.

Today’s first scripture verse 13 says: “And he said unto him, my Lord knoweth that the children are tender.” Verse 14 goes on to say: “Let my Lord, I pray thee pass over before his servant and I will lead on softly according as the cattle goeth before me and the CHILDREN BE ABLE TO ENDURE UNTIL I COME unto my Lord unto Seir.”
If Jacob as a shepherd had to adjust his speed to that of his cattle and if he as a man had to lead his family ACCORDING TO HOW THE CHILDREN WERE ABLE TO ENDURE, then don’t you think the Lord, the Shepherd of shepherds, will do much more?

In today’s first scripture, Jacob did not allow his children to be driven too hard for even one day. he knew exactly how far they could go in a day and he made that his consideration in planning their travel. He had taken the same wilderness journey years before and he knew from personal experience its roughness, harshness, heat and distance. And so he said, “…I will lead on softly.” Likewise, our Lord has passed through this planet, experienced the pain and heat of daily existence and He will never lead you too fast or too slow. He will not allow you to carry a burden bigger than you.

He becomes a man (GOD-MAN) for your sake! He knows the steep/tough places that bruise our feet and the hot and shade-less stretches of the journey that brings us to exhaustion and a near quitting point. He Himself was made our Leader, our Shepherd through the things He suffered. That was His qualification! He had a” Ph.D” in suffering. I write it as Ph.D (surf). A “man” of such caliber understands your heartaches and will not allow that unnecessary trial into your life – (1 Cor. 10:13).

Hear John Aggrey: “God brings men to deep waters, not to drown them, but to cleanse them.” Trust the great Shepherd of your soul! As 2017 swings on speedily, no trial is beyond your strength! God is good! Weep not! Stop getting depressed! Laugh often! Look up! Soon, you will dance and there shall be EVIDENCE that you serve a God that does not lie! AMEN!

1.    Thank God that He knows your limit
2.    Lord, turn every tear around my life to triumph
3.    Lord, deliver me from any temptation higher than I.
4.    I command every architect of spiritual coffins to dry up in confusion (Pray it seriously)! Pray about today seriously as led now.

Use today’s devotional to trust God for any pressing problem! He is more than enough! Consider the human faces of about 7.5 billion people on planet earth. It is amazing that God, with just ordinary dust, could ‘manufacture’ these multitudes with very few look-a-likes.
Indeed, He is more than enough! Doctors have recorded that the average lifespan worldwide is 76 years. The human heart beats on an average of 70 times per minute. that’s 4,200 times per hour, 100,800 times per day and 12,822,400 heartbeats per month. If you take the average lifespan and multiply per minute, that would come to more than 2.7billion (2,796,192,000) heartbeats in the person’s lifespan.

Is that not wonderful? Oh, I love today’s scripture verse 14! Man is indeed wonderfully created and the Creator of that WONDER called your human body, will never allow you to end up in shame! Consider also the fact that the heart is nothing more than a muscle with 2 ventricles and 4 arteries (veins). The heart never rests and has been working since you were born. That’s a great reason to be positive in life.

Do you know that if you measure a body’s blood vessels which consists of all the arteries, veins and capillaries, the length would be between 90,000 and 150,000 kilometers in length, depending on the person’s age? The length of blood vessels can stretch around the world about two times.

Consider your lungs! The average person takes 20 breaths/mm. that is 1,200/hour, 28,800 per day and 806,400 per month. When you multiply this by the lifespan, a person takes nothing less than 798 million (798,912,000) breaths of air in a life time. Oh, lift up your hands and just worship the greatness of your God. He is beautiful beyond description! Too marvelous for words! What can’t this God do? Scientists have agreed that the greatest architectural piece in the universe is the human body.

The God who made that body is working concerning your destiny! Hear Gordon A. J: “The hours of this present life are the ages in embryo of the life to come.” Therefore, hold on to your Creator! Don’t give up now! Don’t surrender now! Don’t forget. Man is indeed wonderfully created and the Creator of that WONDER called your human body, will never allow you to end up in shames! He will make a way! Amen and Amen. Pray now!

1.    Worship Jehovah for His great wisdom and power
2.    Creator of my wonderful body, make a way concerning the following issues of my destiny (Mention them).

Queen of Talent got our Week!!!

During the election of a new pope in 2005, the then elected Pope, Pope Benedict XVI, revealed that he prayed to God during the conclave not to be elected, but that even at that time. He (God) didn’t listen to him! Recollect that Benedict was elected Pope on April 19th 2005, after four rounds of balloting in 24 hours – one of the fastest elections in a century.
He had gone unto the conclave as a leading candidate, but serious doubt arose because at 78, he was considered too old to be named Pope. And truly he retired later due to a heart condition. Heaven is reminding a user of today’s devotional again that God’s ways are not the ways of man and His thoughts are not our thoughts.

Consider the four ways that God answers prayers:

In this second half of the year, when our prayers are not answered the way we wish, it is because God knows why. If God answered all our prayers the way we desired, many of us would have been long dead. Learn to trust the Alpha and the Omega, the God who sees the end from the beginning. THE ALL WISE GOD! His ways are for your good.
Please follow the poem below:
“Unanswered? Yes, the prayers of your lips have pleaded in agony of heart these years? Does your faith begin to fail? Is your hope departing and you think it’s all in vain – your failing tears? Say not that the Father has not heard your prayers! You will have your desire sometime, somewhere, somehow.
God may not answer your prayers exactly the way you asked for it, but never forget, He always answers. Remember Pope Benedict XVI (Retired).

1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!
2.    O God, by the Blood of Jesus, I uproot all unnecessary delays in the affairs of my life (Pray it seriously).
3.    I refuse to hurry ahead of God. I refuse to miss my divine timing and divine will of God.
4.    Holy Ghost, perfect all that concerns my life, family and ministry. Pray any other prayer(s) as led today.

Our Multi-talented Man Crush is definitely worth crushing on!!!
All Hail the Barrister of Rap.

Welcome to this special class in the Abraham University. I call the name of this course “Abraham 201” (ABM 201).
Class Lesson 4: Be a man/woman that hates the word “STAGGER”!

Romans 4:20 says: “But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God.” Staggering is a testimony blocker! The word “stagger” means to waver. No matter how your life, family, and ministry has been, determine to hold on and to never STAGGER. Remember, whatever is not of faith is a sin. So each time you doubt, waver, STAGGER or secretly get angry against God, you are living in sin. Charles Spurgeon opined: “To trust God in the light is nothing but to trust Him in the dark – That is faith.”

Class Lesson 5: Be a man or woman of ALTARS! Make it your life style! Being a man or woman of altars means maintaining an aggressive and regular devotion to God in rain or sunshine. See Genesis 12:7: “And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.” See also verse 8: “And he removed from the thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the West, and Ai on the east: and there be builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.”

Also Genesis 13:18: “Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.” And finally Genesis 26:25: “And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants digged a well.” Wow! Building ALTARS everywhere which means having regular and constant PRIVATE fellowship with God was Abraham’s secret and it must become your secret today.

1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!
2.    Repent from any way in which you have STAGGERED or wavered at God’s promises in the past.
3.    Holy Ghost, grant me the grace to accelerate my private devotion to my Lord. I shall be a person of ALTARS from this day.
4.    I scatter every plan to attack my private ALTAR or private devotion time. I refuse to postpone my prayers from this day. I refuse to be lazy or weary in private prayers or the Word.
5.    Pray about today seriously and any other issue(s) affecting your peace.

O blessed be God for another new day! the Lord was opening my eyes to see our Basic Scripture today and He took me through a study series which I call Abrahamic University College. The Abrahamic University College contains lessons from the life of Abraham. Let’s go now.

1.    Abraham was blessed in all things. Note the words “ALL THINGS”. Genesis 24:1 says: “Now Abraham was old, (“well advanced in age, and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things”). That shall be your portion. The Lord shall COMPLETE every area of your life, family and ministry that is INCOMPLETE. You will end your journey on this planet with this description: BLESSED IN ALL THINGS! You will not leave this planet with regrets or wishes unfulfilled. Amen!

2.    Never look up to man, Genesis 12:1 says: “Now {in Haran} the LORD had said to Abram, “Go away from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you.” Abraham was taken to a point where he was taken from his people. God wants you to BE FAR in your heart from any man/woman.

3.    The bus-stop called “HOPELESSNESS” will never be your last, Romans 4:18 says: “In hope against hope Abraham believed that he would become a father of many nations, as he had been promised {by God}: “So {numberless} SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE.” Abraham got to a point where ALL HOPE WAS LOST. That was when believed in hope against hope. That must be your lifestyle: believe in hope against hope and never believe that anything is impossible….Amen! (TO BE CONTINUED TOMORROW).

1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!
2.    God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, give me the same testimony of Abraham. My life shall end with “BLESSED IN ALL THINGS”.
3.    Abraham’s blessings are mine! God of Abraham, fill every vacuum in my life, family and ministry by your HOLY FIRE.
4.    I reject hopelessness! I refuse to give up! I determine to hope against hope concerning the following issues of my life and ministry (Mention them).
5.    Pray about today seriously and any other issue(s) affecting your peace.

Today’s scripture Vs. 26 – “But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.” By telling the woman about the children’s bread and dogs, the Lord was indirectly telling the woman: “YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED FOR THE HEALING ANOINTING”.
The Lord was telling the woman that His primary assignment and message in the 33” years of His life was to the Jews and not to the Gentiles. In God’s plan, the Gentiles would be saved but after the death and resurrection of Jesus! That was why he told the disciples after His resurrection and final departure:  “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…"

The “ALL NATIONS” meant the Gentiles (non Jews). Also see Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” The UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH means the Gentiles (non Jews). But this woman received healing for her daughter even though she was a Gentiles. That means heaven QUALIFIED her by taking the children’s bread and giving it to her and the LORD is telling me right now that He is going to QUALIFY a user of today’s devotional for outstanding testimonies that would defy explanations!

Yes! From the life of God’s people in the Bible (tomorrow’s devotional), God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called by His MERCY! That’s why whatever it is in your life that is being delayed because it is being contested by Satan like he did to job, will receive ACCELERATION after today! Just continue to trust God by faith just as this woman did because: faith is the ability to see God in the dark. You cannot be accused again! Mercy is taking over because God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualified the called.

Prayer Points
1.    Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led
2.    My father! My father!! Show me uncommon MERCY that will qualify me for every blessing from Your table.
3.    I resist today the accuser of the brethren seeking my disqualification.
4.    Lord God, who qualifies the called, You have called me to show forth Your glory before the last day of this year; do something special that will announce Your name in Jesus name.

5.    Pray about today seriously and any other issue(s) affecting your peace.
